Junior Software Engineer

We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our development team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career developer looking to gain hands-on experience building and maintaining modern web applications.

You'll work alongside experienced developers on real production systems, contributing to both front-end and back-end development while learning modern software engineering practices.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain web applications using Next.js, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
  • Build and integrate backend functionality and APIs
  • Implement application validation and type-safe data handling using tools such as Zod
  • Work with authentication and authorization systems such as Auth0
  • Use modern state management patterns and libraries
  • Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot applications running in Microsoft Azure and Linux environments
  • Use Git for source control, branching, pull requests, and collaborative development
  • Debug issues across the application stack
  • Work with senior developers to design and implement new features
  • Help test, document, and improve existing applications

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Understanding of JavaScript and modern web development
  • Familiarity with React and/or Next.js
  • Exposure to TypeScript
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs and client/server architecture
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience with Git and version control
  • Understanding of application state management
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and work across the full stack
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

Nice to Have

Experience with any of the following is helpful, but not required:

  • Next.js
  • TypeScript
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Linux
  • Quickbase
  • Auth0 or other authentication platforms
  • Drizzle ORM or another ORM
  • Zod or similar validation libraries
  • PostgreSQL or other relational databases
  • React state management libraries
  • CI/CD and application deployment
